He just couldn't stay away...

Chronicle of a Sunday Afternoon

1:30pm

I am minding my own business, peacefully sipping ahot cocoa in my IKEA chair, flipping through the latest listings on Offer Up. THUD!
Did a bird just fly into my window? Did my neighbor throw a rock at my house?
IS MY LIFE AT RISK?!?!

1:31pm

I rise to investigate. Peering out the back window, I see that my expensive security system has been breached and an intruder is standing in the yard.

1:32pm 

I get my phone to capture ample documentation of this activity for the neighborhood crime watch. Suspect makes eye contact.

1:33pm

Making note of the camera, the suspect makes an act of contrition and slowly reverses its prior decisions.

2:25pm

Nearly an hour later, the suspect continues to eye me stealthily and taunt me from outside the fence, as if plotting further mischief and assuring me the battle is not over.

2:38pm

Suspect enlists back up.

2:45pm

Security system reinforced. Victory is mine.
